Scaling strategic initiatives
Led a consultancy project to assess & improve the strategic positions of two environmental initiatives: Tiny Forest & Freshwater Watch. Conducted semi-structured interviews with stakeholders & employed a range of analytical tools to generate strategic options for scaling. These were carefully evaluated for suitability, acceptability & feasibility.
2018-2021
IUCN Urban Alliance
Established, directed & scaled an Arcadia-funded global coalition of organisations promoting nature-positive urban development. Coordinated the publication of over 200 urban case studies; developed digital tools for sustainability assessment; & organised the Local Action Summit at IUCN World Conservation Congress 2021.
2021-2023
Urban Nature Indexes
Coordinated the technical development of the IUCN Urban Nature Indexes to measure & track the ecological performance of cities. This entailed working with Urban Biodiversity Hub to undertake a global stakeholder survey, convene expert working groups & beta-test in six cities: Curridabat, Lagos, Mexico City, Paris, Saanich & Singapore.
2017-2018
UN Young Champions
Coordinated the design, launch & delivery of a global contest & mentoring platform to identify & support promising ideas of talented young environmentalists. Reaching hundreds of millions of people & catalysing numerous sustainable business ventures, Young Champions of the Earth became UNEP's flagship initiative on youth engagement.
